Best iPhone Games of 2010 (so far)

Angry Birds opening screenshot.

10. PZS - Soccer ball kicking kids knocking off zombie attackers. Fun and super awesome character development.

9. Cluck it! – Identical to frogger,  but with chickens you are helping across the street. The graphics are what make this game special.

8. Boost - Simple track racing game through simple vector-shaped tubes.

7. Cobalt – Great running game. Black and white graphics. Sort of 8-bit. Cool sample-based music and big jumps! 1-touch control.

6. Above – Fricking great game jumping up onto platforms. 3 levels. Gets more challenging the higher you jump. Eventually you are jumping in space. 1-touch control.

5. Jet Car Stunts –  A damn fun game. Challenging and you gotta go slow, but how many times do you can you say you flew a jet car at 30,000 feet in the air from floating platform to floating platform. Quite a clever idea for a game. I’m thinking there is an unexplored genre of game in the clouds.

4. New York Rollercoaster 3D – Beautifully rendered 3d graphics. Insane off-the-track rollercoaster rides. Groovy 70s disco. Solid game and really addictive.

3. RobotUnicorn – If Napoleon Dynamite had a video game choice – this might be it. Made by the Adult Swim folks. It has unicorns jumping, hyper speed, explosions, and super cheesy 80s music (you can turn off and use your own tracks.) Definitely a blast.

2. Angry Birds – Slingshots are great. Tiny birds are angry. The graphics, although simple, are amazingly sharp. Even the smallest objects are quite definied. It can be quite relaxing and peaceful shooting different kinds of exploding birds through the air to destroy round, green pigs. There are also about 1,000,000 levels.

1. Tetris - Pretty simple. Everyone loves Tetris. This version is solidly thought out. Worth having anytime you need a Tetris fix. Perma-classic. Oh yea, the controls are good and very easy to manipulate shapes.
